in the villages all round the region. |

offer.The grands crus of Chateauneuf du Pâpe and the villages
of Gigondas , |

Vaqueyras , are close by. Our neighbour makes excellent wiine
too ! |
| Provencal
markets are exellent for buying the best of the local produce |
| (Tuesdays
in Vaison ,Thursday in Orange or Villeneuve ,Fridays in |
| Carpentras)
but remember that the markets are packed up and gone by 12.30pm. |
| Local
specialities include André Boyer's nougat in the village
of Sault |
| which
is a centre for lavender production. Aix is famous for its Calissons |
| and
Avignon shops sell Papalines. Farm produce includes goat-cheese |
|
and
honey. Olives and Olive oil from Maussane in the Alpilles..... |

diet can wait until you get home ! |
